Man Utd star Anthony Martial ‘offered to Fenerbahce’ with Turkish giants also in for his Old Trafford team-mate

Fenerbahce could be adding not one, but two Manchester United stars to their roster, as they have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Anthony Martial. The injury-prone French striker is entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, and it seems United are willing to offload him. Martial has had a rocky time at the Red Devils since his arrival in 2015, with a disappointing loan spell at Sevilla last season. Although he returned to United and scored nine goals in the previous campaign, his playing time is expected to be limited this season with the arrival of Danish forward Ramsus Hojlund from Atalanta. United boss Erik ten Hag is looking to offload several players this summer, and Martial is one of them.

Martial's future

Turkish journalist Sercan Hamzaoglu claims that Fenerbahce have been given the opportunity to sign Martial. According to Hamzaoglu, Martial's representative informed the Turkish club that they could acquire the player "free of charge." The 27-year-old striker reportedly wants a three-year contract with a weekly salary of £83,000 and a signing-on fee of £3.46m. This comes after Fenerbahce submitted an official £13m bid for United's Brazilian midfielder Fred. Although United values Fred slightly higher, they may be willing to negotiate as the transfer window is coming to a close. Fenerbahce seems to have beaten Fulham in the race for Martial, as talks between Fulham and United were reportedly unsuccessful. Now, Fenerbahce has the opportunity to add both Martial and Fred to their squad.

Funding new arrivals

United boss Erik ten Hag is keen to offload Fred in order to free up funds for new signings. West Ham has recently agreed to a £30m fee for United and England centre-back Harry Maguire, and United could combine these funds to make a bid for their top midfield target this summer, Sofyan Amrabat. With Fenerbahce potentially acquiring Martial and Fred, it remains to be seen how this will impact United's plans for the remainder of the transfer window.
