But latest accounts for the restaurant – which has been given rave reviews by diners for its food and wine – show it has large debts.

Books filed to Companies House recently revealed it has total debts of £772,086 for 2018 – up from £593,548 in 2017.

The accounts showed it had £46,422 in cash and stock worth £14,697.

The restaurant is run by his dad Juan Mata Rodriguez with cash from the midfielder.

A report into the firm’s trading revealed: “The company is dependent upon the financial support of JMM Rodriguez who has indicated that he will not withdraw this financial support in the foreseeable future.

“On this basis, the directors consider it appropriate to prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis.”
