MANCHESTER UNITED star Luke Shaw says the season should be scrapped and Liverpool denied the title.
He did so as he revealed his new-look shaved head from lockdown.
The season has been KO’d indefinitely due to the coronavirus crisis with the Reds just two wins away from securing the title for the first time in 30 years prior to the shutdown.
Fifa are set to extend the 2019/20 season indefinitely, handing domestic leagues the power to decide their own fate in the coronavirus pandemic.
There is reportedly a ‘tentative’ plan for the top flight to resume behind closed doors in June after the Premier League mapped out an agreement with senior officials on a resumption of matches.
This will be music to the ears of Liverpool and their 25-point lead atop the Premier League, which has been under threat from talks to bin the campaign early.
But Shaw says the season should be considered null and void if the campaign is not completed.
During a Combat Corona Twitch FIFA competition, Shaw said: “Scrap it and start again. Start it again yeah. It’s gotta be you know. If we can’t carry it on it’s got to be void.”
The 24-year-old was taking on Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who swerved the question but burst out laughing at Shaw’s blunt response.
The United left-back also said he could never bring himself to play as Liverpool on FIFA.
Shaw added: “Fans are so important. You realise it even more (now). I think the sport is for fans really, do you know what I mean? “I think if you don’t have fans, and you don’t play in front of fans, it just doesn’t feel right.
“Especially on match-day the fans are always amazing and always help the team. Whether it’s home or even away, our fans are always brilliant and I feel like they’re always there with us.”
Loftus-Cheek added: “The fans are what make football what it is.
“You saw a few games at the end of the season – well, not the end of the season, but recently – without the fans and it wasn’t the same, it was so far off what football feels like when fans are screaming, cheering.”
Shaw has been the latest footie ace to take part in the shaved head trend following the closure of hair salons and barbers amid the coronavirus crisis.
Former England skipper, David Beckham, has also joined the growing crop of stars who have opted for a buzz cut.
Red Devils aces Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial have also gone for a dramatic bald look during the lockdown.
