Man Utd starlet Tahith Chong emerges as shock Juventus transfer target

JUVENTUS are in the hunt for Manchester United winger Tahith Chong, according to reports.

Out of contract in the summer, the 19-year-old is yet to enjoy a breakout performance for the first-team despite a handful of chances.

Chong made his United debut in January

Chong has hit two goals in three games for United’s Under-23s this season but is yet to register in four outings for the first-team.

Nevertheless, Daily Mail say Juve are joined by a number of major European teams in monitoring the player.

His contract situation is said to be of great interest to them with no agreement yet reached on a Red Devils extension.

Letting Chong go would no doubt leave fans worrying of another Paul Pogba situation.

The French midfielder left for Turin as a relatively unknown youth prospect before quickly turning into one of the globe’s hottest talents.

And some corners of Old Trafford rate Curacao born Chong as a similar prospect.

The Dutch youth international arrived from Feyenoord in 2016 and refused to go back out on loan in the Eredivisie in the summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has since awarded Chong two Premier League substitute appearances amid a greater focus on youth this season.

In September, the manager said: “That’s the thing here. The young kids do get chances and when they take them, it can be life-changing.”
