Man Utd stars impressed by Van de Beek’s body transformation with £35m midfielder ‘working hard in gym’

DONNY VAN DE BEEK’s body transformation has been noticed by his team-mates at Manchester United.

The Dutchman worked hard over the off season to become stronger ahead of his second year at Old Trafford.

With the help of Amsterdam training centre FysioConcept, Van de Beek devised new nutrition and gym plans.

He arrived back at Carrington last month having visibly bulked up.

And his work has been noticed by fellow midfield maestro Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese star has been back in United training for little over a week after taking an extended holiday following Euro 2020.

But he has already noticed positives in Van de Beek.

He told the club’s official website: “As a professional player you always prepare for your season before you come back for training, you always do something before and I think everyone was doing their jobs at home.

“I’m happy to see how everyone is, how happy they are to be back and they are training really hard.”

On Van de Beek, 24, specifically, he added: “Yes he’s working hard and working hard in the gym.

“Obviously he is one of the quality players we know and now he’s building up.”

Skipper Harry Maguire also had a cheeky comment to add on Instagram, after seeing a picture of his captain’s armband stretched over Van de Beek’s bicep in a pre-season friendly.

He commented: “Don’t stretch that armband @Donnyvdbeek!”

Van de Beek struggled in his first season at United, starting only four Premier League games.

But he is said to be determined to show his best form this term.
