MANCHESTER UNITED will battle Tottenham and Man City in the race to sign Todd Cantwell, according to reports.

The Norwich midfielder, 21, scored his sixth goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.

And the form that has been him become the club’s second-highest goalscorer this season has alerted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, say the Daily Mail.

The Old Trafford boss is rumoured to be having a think about how to switch up his midfield following Scott McTominay’s injury which will leave him out for a “few months”.

And SunSport told you Paul Pogba’s time at the club is over, with the players and chiefs desperate to end his second spell in Manchester.

Cantwell, who has played for England at Under-17s and U21s level, is rated at around 30million.

The Mail add that Cantwell is the “type of talent” United want to buy now – young and British.

United have also been strongly linked with moves for Leicester’s James Maddison, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Newcastle star Sean Longstaff.

Pep Guardiola’s City are believed to have been monitoring Cantwell for several years.

He has spent his entire career at Carrow Road apart from a loan stint at Dutch side Fortuna Sittard in 2017.

But now could be time for a change with Norwich bottom of the Premier League.

Daniel Farke’s side sit five points adrift of a resurgent Watford, who have three wins and are unbeaten in their last four under Nigel Pearson.

Cantwell is under contract until 2022 and the Canaries will be desperate to hold onto him.
