, Man Utd to lose Tahith Chong on free transfer after rift with Solskjaer, claims agent as Juventus and Inter Milan circle

MANCHESTER UNITED look set to lose Tahith Chong on a free transfer in the summer, according to the player’s agent Erkan Alkan.

It comes after an apparent rift between the player and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United could lose Tahith Chong on a free transfer in the summer, claims the players agent

The 20-year-old forward wants to leave Old Trafford and move to Italy, despite Manchester United offering him a new deal in an attempt to cling on to the Dutch international.

Part of the reason is due to a rift with Solskjaer, Alkan has claimed.

He told Dutch publication Votebal International:”He [Solskjaer] has different views on Tahith than the leadership.

”A trainer thinks about himself, I think about my player.

”He has come to a point where he feels that he is not going any further. Then it’s time to look further”.

THE NEW POGBA

According to The Times, Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus are interested in the youngster with the latter willing to offer him a five-year-contract worth around 50,000 a week as well as a hefty signing on fee.

Chong has less than six months left on his contract at Old Trafford and while he has been waiting for talks over a new deal to progress, no suitable proposal has come to the forefront.

Tuttosport in Italy recently claimed that Old Lady bosses are closing in on agreeing a pre-contract with the player, in a deal similar to that of Paul Pogba’s in 2012.

Pogba ran down his deal with United and fell out with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Chong has only made 11 first-team appearances for the Red Devils during his time at the club.

Seven of those coming this season.

He has featured in three Europa League matches this term but has only tallied 24 minutes on the pitch from two Premier League appearances.

Solskjaer says he is keen on keeping him in the squad, though, and appears to contradict the way the young attacker is feeling toward the whole situation.

He said: ”There are players we want to get signed [up to new contracts] and Tahith is a player we think is going to develop.

”We’ve offered him a very good contract and the ball is in his court”.
