MANCHESTER UNITED are set to land Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona after failing to sign Jadon Sancho – if they offer him a long-term contract.
The Red Devils are looking to land a right-winger after a summer of dithering over England winger Sancho.
Dembele, 23, has had various injury problems at Barca since arriving at the Nou Camp in 2017, especially with hamstring issues.
According to the Sunday Times’ Duncan Castles, United have managed to convince him to make the Old Trafford switch after he had initial reservations.
Ironically, Sancho was Dembele’s replacement at the Westfalenstadion and is now valued far higher than the Frenchman.
There have also been previous reports that pal Paul Pogba has been messaging his France team-mate to convince him to join – with £65million thought to be enough to land him.

Dembele has also had issues around getting to training on time and other off-field quirks that have irked Barcelona since they paid £97m from him three years ago.
But the former Rennes and Dortmund man appears in need of a fresh start after losing his way in Catalonia.
He has seen just 20 minutes of football under Ronald Koeman this season and nine appearances last term in LaLiga and the Champions League.
This would surely be a concern for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who will not want to shell out a handsome sum of money on a permanent deal for a player with a dodgy hamstring.
