Man Utd to take 505k-a-week Alexis Sanchez back next season and will NOT loan flop out or sell

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly going to take back Alexis Sanchez next season and will not sell or loan the 505,000-a-week flop.

Sanchez, 31, was finally freed from his Old Trafford nightmare this summer as he followed Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in a loan move.

The Chilean forward swapped Arsenal for United in January 2018 but managed just five goals in 45 appearances over his 18-month spell.

And this season has not been much better, with Sanchez managing just seven appearances with one goal under Antonio Conte and having already missed 14 games after an ankle injury.

Despite the lack of game time the Daily Star report United vice-chairman Ed Woodward has told the player and his agent he will return to Manchester next summer.

It rules out the chance for Inter to make the loan transfer permanent, and will fend off any interest elsewhere for the ex-Gunners star.

Despite Uniteds stance on the player it is claimed Sanchez found it hard to fit in with the Old Trafford dressing room and wants to remain in Italy.

But the Premier League side believe it will be hard to find a buyer for the forward with clubs sure to be put off his huge wages – with United still forced to pay 250,000-a-week while he plays for Inter.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also paid the price for not replacing Sanchez and Lukaku this season, with Anthony Martial inconsistent and Marcus Rashord sidelined with a back injury.

It is thought United would rather have a player of Sanchezs experience in their squad to provide more options should Solskjaer find himself lacking in attack next term.

The Old Trafford boss failed in an attempt to prize wizkid Erling Haaland to Manchester this month, with the 19-year-old opting to move to Germany with Borussia Dortmund instead.

With a lack of firepower going forward this season, United have also been linked with Lyons Moussa Dembele and PSGs wantaway veteran Edison Cavani.
