Man Utd transfer boost in Jadon Sancho race as Liverpool pull out of £100m battle for Borussia Dortmund star

MANCHESTER UNITED have been boosted in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho – as Liverpool are reportedly not interested in signing him.

The Borussia Dortmund star has been linked with a return to England this summer, with a number of Premier League clubs in pursuit.

Jadon Sancho is being chased by Manchester United and Chelsea – but NOT Liverpool

But according to The Mirror, Liverpool aren’t one of them.

That will leave United tackling Chelsea in a battle to secure the 20-year-old’s signature.

The Red Devils have already been in touch with Sancho’s agent in the hope of persuading the star that a move to Old Trafford is the best outcome.

But the £100million asking price – for a player who cost just £8m from Manchester City in 2017 – could prove the biggest obstacle.

SunSport reported that Sancho will be allowed to leave Dortmund if his heart is set on a move to United.

But the German club will refuse to let the England winger leave on the cheap.

Sancho is a top transfer target for plenty of top sides across Europe but United lead the chase.

And now Dortmund’s chief executive has admitted they will respect the star’s wishes if he decides he wants out.

However, Hans-Joachim Watzke insisted if a deal is done that sees Sancho leave, it will be on the Bundesliga outfit’s terms.

Watzke told Bild: “You always have to respect what the player wants.

“We said before coronavirus that our favourite idea is that Jadon will stay with us.

“I can say that even the very rich clubs, despite the existing crisis, don’t believe they can go on a bargain tour with us.

“We don’t have to sell anyone below value.”

Sancho is under contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2022 after penning an extension in October 2018.
