MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal target Wilfred Ndidi has insisted he has no intention of leaving Leicester.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mikel Arteta have both looked at adding the 23-year-old defensive midfielder to their ranks.
But that now looks out of the question after the Foxes ace, so influential in getting them to third in the table before the coronavirus lockdown, revealed he is happy at the King Power.
The Nigeria star told ESPN: “We are doing well and I am enjoying myself here. I still have a contract with Leicester.
“I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I am doing okay here so no need to go anywhere.”
Asked about what made Leicester such an attractive proposition these days, Ndidi, who signed a new six-year deal with Leicester back in 2018, said it was down to boss Brendan Rodgers.
He said Rodgers holds personal meetings with each player and that they have been key to his development.
Ndidi suggested that attention to detail and commitment is lacking at other clubs and forms another part of the reason he wants to stay in the Midlands.
He said: “It’s the Brendan Rodgers effect. With him, it is not just about the 11 players and subs. Even the players in the Under-23s, he carries everybody along.
“So there is always space for anybody to fill in and to play. He is that kind of coach that always believes in the squad and not just one player. The main thing is the squad, the squad comes first.
“The fact that he trusts and tries to improve the players is one thing. It is very difficult for a manager to come in and then dedicate himself to improving players, getting regular one on one meetings with players to help them make improvements.
“This is professional football, some teams won’t have that time for you to do all that.
“Everybody just focuses on the business, they’re paying you for it and expect you to do the work. But Rodgers is different, very different.”
Ndidi joined Leicester in 2017’s January transfer window from Genk for £15million and has made 130 appearances for the club.
