Man Utd warned over £50m Jude Bellingham transfer as Birmingham boss says more clubs will want to sign 16-year-old

MANCHESTER UNITED have been told to sort out a quick £50million deal for Birmingham wonderkid Jude Bellingham – or risk losing him.

Blues boss Pep Clotet has warned Old Trafford chiefs to expect more competition for him when the season resumes.

Manchester United need to do a quick deal for Jude Bellingham or they could lose him

Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund also want the 16-year-old.

Bellingham has made 35 appearances for the Championship club this season, making a huge impression.

Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to the youngster to convince him to come to United.

But the lockdown has put the move on hold – and now other clubs could steal in to grab the youngster.

Clotet told Sky Sports: “As a head coach, I don’t deal with transfers, it’s the club.

“But I can imagine the situation has all the clubs very worried about how to finish this season and what impact this season has into next season.

“That can change a lot of the future of the clubs. Possibly it’s going to be a busy summer, possibly it’s going to be less busy, we still don’t know what impact it will have.

“Because of the current situation we have now, we possibly think we’ll be competing and playing games until July.

“We are very focused on the present and there’s so much uncertainty in this situation that it’s very difficult to start thinking about next season.

“What I’m very happy about now is that Jude is here with us and all the players are here with us as well.

“We focus on that really, but I understand there’s going to be more speculation when the games do come back.”
