MANCHESTER UNITED have received a transfer boost in their pursuit of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to reports.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but his preferred location is thought to be Paris Saint-Germain.
According to French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett wants the teenager to move to Man Utd but the player is continuing to hold out for a deal with PSG.
However, joining the French club could be made very difficult if Lionel Messi arrives in Paris as he is expected to in the coming days.
When asked about potentially signing for PSG, Messi said: “It is a possibility, but as of today there is nothing agreed with anyone.
“When the statement came out, I had many calls, various clubs were interested. But I have nothing closed yet. But we are talking.”
If a PSG-Messi agreement can be reached, Mauricio Pochettino is expected to ship up to TEN players out in order to fund the deal.
As a result, bringing in even more new faces is not likely to be on the Parisian club’s agenda.
This is bad news for Camavinga but a major coup for Man Utd as they look to put pen to paper.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid have also been linked with three-cap starlet Camavinga, who has just a year left on his contract.
Camavinga came through the Rennes youth set-up and has played 82 times for the senior team, scoring two goals.
He could be set to replace fellow countryman Paul Pogba should the World Cup winner decide to leave this summer.
Pogba, 28, has frequently been linked with a move away from Old Trafford as the likes of PSG and Real Madrid ponder a potential bid.
