Marseille boss Andre-Villas Boas ready to steal Leicesters 18-year-old wonderkid Sidnei Tavares

ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS is ready to snatch Leicester Citys Portuguese wonderkid Sidnei Tavares away from the Premier League.

Tavares, 18, signed his first senior contract for the Foxes in March after progressing through the academy from the age of nine.

Leicester’s Sidnei Tavares could be whisked away to Marseille by former Premier League manager Andre Villas-Boas

But SunSport understands that two-year deal is now under threat with the midfielder unsettled, and former Tottenham boss Villas-Boas currently at Marseille is keen to splash the cash.

Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Napoli, Atletico Madrid, Roma and Vitesse are also all ready to promise Tavares first-team football.

Tavares chose to sign with Leicester ahead of the likes of Everton, Lazio and FC Porto mainly because of Brendan Rodgers history in giving youth a chance.

He attended the clubs pre-season tour in Evian, but is yet to make a first-team appearance.

It has now emerged that the player is homesick, and also uncomfortable with the potential outcome of Brexit as he only possesses a Portuguese passport.

Tavares cousins with Manchester United legend Nani is currently captain of Leicesters U18s, and has notched five goals and three assists in ten games this season.

Last season, as a 17-year-old, Tavares made his debut for the clubs U23 side.
And he is quickly making a name for himself on the international stage, earning call-ups to Portugals U18 and U19 squads.
