Mason Mount Injured and Set to Miss Next Few Matches for Manchester United

What Happened?

In a blow to Manchester United, midfielder Mason Mount is set to be sidelined until after the international break due to an injury he picked up in the team's recent 2-0 defeat to Tottenham. Mount, who has started both of the Red Devils' Premier League games this season, will not feature again until they host Brighton on September 16.

Club Statement and Criticism

A club statement confirmed that Mount will miss the upcoming game against Nottingham Forest and is expected to be out until the international break next month. Additionally, United legend Gary Neville criticized the performance of the team's midfield trio, including Mount, calling it "non-existent" and highlighting concerns about their defensive work.

Mount's Role and Transfer

Mason Mount joined Manchester United from Chelsea last month in a £60 million deal. However, he is yet to complete a full 90 minutes for the club. In the recent matches, he was substituted for Christian Eriksen and Facundo Pellistri in the 68th and 85th minutes, respectively.
