MO SALAH will have been “fuming” at missing out on Liverpool’s 5-2 derby thrashing of Everton.

That’s the opinion of former Reds striker Peter Crouch, who thinks that Salah’s quest for the Golden Boot means he will have been desperate to play.

Mo Salah was benched as Liverpool thrashed Everton in the big derby

Boss Jurgen Klopp rested a number of players for the Merseyside derby – but it made little difference as his side brushed aside the Toffees.

Sadio Mane, who was involved in a extraordinary bust-up with Salah earlier this season, netted while reserve striker Divock Origi bagged twice.

Xherdan Shaqiri and Georgino Wijnaldum were the other names on the score-sheet.

But despite another three points on the road to the Premier League title, Crouch think there will have been one unhappy face at Anfield.

WANTS GOLDEN BOOT

Speaking on Amazon Prime after the game, the 38-year-old ex-England international said: “I think he will be fuming to be on the bench.

“He will want to be part of that team. He has aspirations for the Golden Boot, we know what he is like.

“He has gone from a winger to a selfish striker. He won’t be sat on the bench enjoying that performance.

“He will have been sat there thinking he could have got two or three goals.

“If there is one man who is probably walking away not so pleased, it is probably him.

“I remember when England were playing Andorra and I was like ‘get me on that pitch’.”

SALAH-MANE BUST-UP

Back in August Liverpool were 3-0 up at Turf Moor in August when Salah, 27, was through on goal and went alone instead of squaring it to Mane.

The Egyptian was closed down and the scoring chance went begging.

Mane, 27, was furious with the wasted chanceand raged as he was subbed off just moments later.

And the winger opened up about the situation with team-mate Salah, revealing to Canal Plus: “He said to me ‘Sadio, why are you angry?’

I told him ‘You needed to give me the ball, Mo’, to which he replied ‘I didn’t see you. You know I’ve got nothing against you’.

“I know that, but his reaction was a bit strange to me.

Mane was unplayable at times against Everton, while fellow attacker Salah watched on from the bench and didn’t get any pitch-time.

As far as goals are concerned, Salah has six in 12 in the Premier League while Mane has nine in 15.
