MOHAMED ELNENY has reportedly agreed a new contract to stay at Arsenal.
The 29-year-old was poised to become a free agent when his deal at the Emirates expires next month.
The midfielder hardly featured for previous manager Unai Emery, which led to a loan to Besiktas in 2019, and he initially struggled under Mikel Arteta as well.
However, Elneny has now emerged as a key member of the Gunners squad after he was given an opportunity following three straight defeats.
He has shone in the absence of injured Thomas Partey and now appears set to be rewarded after begging the club to keep him.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that he has agreed an extension until 2023 with the option for an additional 12 months.
That was backed up by Sam Dean of The Telegraph.
And, according to Football London, he may have already signed the paperwork.
They report that the Egyptian international was spotted after the 5-1 win over Everton on Sunday with “a pen in his hand and a piece of paper in front of him posing for pictures with the club photographer” at the Emirates.

Elneny arrived at the Emirates from FC Basel in 2016.
During his time in North London he has helped Arsenal to FA Cup success and two Community Shields.
He has featured over 80 times for them in the Premier League, scoring once.
