Most crazy Boxing Day ever saw Man Utd smashed 6-1 by Burnley, Fulham demolish Ipswich 10-1 and 66 goals scored in total

FOOTBALL FANS will be hoping for a similar set of Boxing Day results to the Christmas cracker in 1963.

In a crazy day of 10 matches, an incredible 66 goals scored with the pick of the bunch a 10-1 win for Fulham against Ipswich.

That season Liverpool won the league, and they were set on their way with a 6-1 thrashing against Stoke.

Manchester United came runners up behind their fierce rivals and were stunned 6-1 on their Boxing Day travels against Burnley.

United travel to Newcastle tomorrow and will be praying for a better performance than Sir Matt Busby’s men managed 56 years ago.

Tottenham were involved in a 4-4 thriller against West Brom while Wolves were also in a high scoring draw against Aston Villa with the match ending 3-3.

Chelsea, who finished fifth that season, picked up a 5-1 away win at Blackpool.

The Blues are on course to better their 1963-64 finish as they sit five points safe of Champions League qualification.

In a fairly uneventful game, Leicester beat Everton 2-0 – and amongst the high-scoring games, fans joked that would have been the result to ruin their betting accumulators.

One said: “Absolutely no doubt I would’ve had Leicester Everton both teams to score.”
