JOSE MOURINHO admits Tottenham are firing blanks with their striker crisis leaving them like a gun with no bullets.

Spurs Champions League hopes suffered a huge blow as they went down 1-0 at home to RB Leipzig in the first-leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday.

Jose Mourinho admitted Spurs are like a ‘gun with no bullets’ due to their injury crisis

Liverpool target Timo Werners second half penalty proved to be the only goal of the game as the hosts struggled to mount a serious offense due to a lack of firepower.

After failing to lay a glove on their German opponents, the Spurs boss said: You look to the other guys [Leipzig].

They play with [Patrick] Schick, Werner, [Christopher] Nkunku. Nkunku is tired, get out, on comes [Emil] Forsberg. Schick is tired, get out, on comes [Yussuf] Poulsen.

This is our situation, its like going to a fight with a gun without bullets.

Top scorer Harry Kane is out until April with a hamstring injury while the North London club were hit with another hammer blow yesterday when Son Heung-Min was ruled out for at least two months after fracturing his arm.

That leaves Mourinho with only Lucas Moura as a senior forward option and youngster Troy Parrott.

However the Portuguese remained upbeat over his teams chances of progressing into the last-eight although he revealed his concerns ahead of a crunch run of fixtures.

He added: I’m not worried with the 1-0 – we can go there and win.

What worries me is that these are our players for the next however many matches.

Moura was absolutely dead, Bergwijn was absolutely dead, Lo Celso was absolutely dead.

We are really in trouble. If it was just this game I’d say no problem but we have FA Cup and Premier League games.
