Newcastle ‘ask Chelsea about double loan transfer swoop for Tammy Abraham and Billy Gilmour’

NEWCASTLE have reportedly enquired about taking Tammy Abraham and Billy Gilmour on loan from Chelsea.

The Blues are set for a big summer of spending which could see their young talent left out in the cold.

Tammy Abraham is set to be put up for sale by Thomas Tuchel

According to Northern Echo, contact has already been made between the clubs as the Toon outline their intentions.

Chelsea are described as not yet willing to sanction a loan move while they formulate their summer plans – but that situation could change.

The duo have combined for only nine league appearances under Thomas Tuchel with Abraham in particular struggling for game time.

Hauled off at half-time of both his Premier League starts under the German, he did not even make the bench for Saturday’s Champions League final victory over Manchester City.

The striker’s girlfriend launched into an online tirade against Tuchel following a similar axe in the FA Cup final and Abraham is reportedly available for a permanent sale.

Aston Villa and West Ham have also been named in reports with the 23-year-old valued at £40million.

Meanwhile, Gilmour was largely left out by Tuchel until Chelsea’s busy run-in.

Both players will be assessed by the manager as he begins an expensive summer in the transfer market.

Also potentially up for sale to fund the spree are Kepa Arrizabalaga, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

As much as £150m could be splashed on new signings with Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland on their radar.

Harry Kane is also being eyed with reports suggesting Abraham and goalkeeper Arrizabalaga could be offered in an audacious players-plus-cash deal.
