Newcastle out to snatch Boubacar Kamara from under Chelsea and Man Utd’s noses with £10m January transfer swoop

NEWCASTLE are making a dramatic bid to sign Marseille midfield star Boubacar Kamara — from under the noses of Premier League rivals.

The Toon’s transfer team have lined up talks with Kamara’s agents — and hope to agree a deal with him before sorting out a fee with the French giants.

Kamara is attracting interest from a host of top European clubs

The anchorman, 22, is a free agent at the end of the season but Newcastle plan to fix personal terms and offer as much as £10million to buy him in January.

That kind of money could see off other Premier League interest from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, as most of Kamara’s fan club want to wait until he can go for nothing in the summer.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has told the owners that he wants Prem experience — but also believes Kamara is too good to miss and should be snapped up quickly.

Toon’s top scout Steve Nickson has been working in foreign talent for months — and despite Howe’s preferences it is becoming obvious that the net will have to be widened.

Kieran Trippier is still a major target for right-back but negotiations about wages are yet to be finalised.

Megabucks Toon are being careful not to overspend  and set a bar that makes every signing more expensive.

Temporary transfer fixer Nicky Hammond is also now pushing for a bid to be made for Reims striker Bilal Toure.

The Mali ace, 20, has been earmarked as a potential star in the French top flight.

Toure has one goal to his name this term.
