Newcastle want to rescue Harry Maguire – but Man Utd WON’T loan him to Magpies despite being open to Aston Villa loan

NEWCASTLE want to rescue Harry Maguire from Manchester United on LOAN — but they will have to buy him.

The England centre-half  can leave Old Trafford if the deal is right, though the Red Devils will not loan him to Toon as it would be helping a rival with no financial benefit.

Harry Maguire is on the radar of Newcastle, Tottenham and Aston Villa

If the Magpies come in with a cash offer it would be a different story and also show how serious they are about Maguire.

Aston Villa are watching developments as they want extra cover in the squad for their European campaign.

Villa would have a better chance of a loan deal being accepted by United.

Tottenham are linked with the 30-year-old but are yet to make a play.

Leicester were keen but relegation put an end to that idea.

It comes amid suggestions Maguire would be content to stay at Old Trafford.

United players will reportedly get a pay rise following qualification for the Champions League.

And Maguire’s current wages of around £200,000 a week would already be hard to match by most Prem rivals.

He made just 16 top-flight appearances over the season.

Old Trafford chief would love to clear up funds to boost his pursuit of Napoli centre-back Kim-Min-jae.

The South Korean ace – also eyed by Newcastle – has a £42million release clause that becomes active on July 1.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are facing interest in keeper Karl Darlow from Middlesbrough and Hull.
