OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER claimed Scott McTominay could have went down when Neymar grabbed his ‘gentle parts’ – but he’s pleased he didn’t.
The Manchester United boss aimed a cheeky dig at the French giants after his side’s 3-1 defeat in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Solskjaer insisted he wants his players to continue being ‘honest’ following the fiery group stage clash at Old Trafford.
He said: “I don’t want to comment on opposition players. My players know my values. I want honest players.
“Scotty could have gone down when Neymar grabs his gentle parts but I don’t want them to do that.”
Tempers flared during the match after McTominay appeared to accidentally stand on Neymar.
Neymar crashed to the ground to the ground after a challenge from the Scottish star.
McTominay moved away, but in doing so he trod on the PSG star’s ankle.
Neymar yelped in pain before he chased down the United star to confront him after the half-time whistle.
After the match, McTominay, 23, did not hold back as he ripped into the PSG squad.
He said: “The reaction of their players is [shakes head]…
“I’ve got nothing to say about that, you get in trouble if you start speaking about that and the referee.
“I said at half-time if we don’t get anything from this game then we should be coming in disappointed and angry with each other.
“It’s a tough pill to swallow when you see how the game pans out, it was a sloppy goal to conceded then the way we played after that was brilliant, the way we approached the game was total focus.
“I’m hearing their goal was partly offside as well.
“For us where is the balance in the game with how the referee has approached decisions?
“We’re seeing mistakes week in, week out, for us it has to be rectified, get football back to the way it was.”
But Neymar had the last laugh as he scored twice during his side’s 3-1 win at Old Trafford.
The defeat has left Manchester United’s Champions League hanging in the balance.
They are now level with PSG and RB Leipzig on nine points in Group H.
