Nottingham Forest close to tying down promotion-winning boss Steve Cooper on new three-year deal

NOTTINGHAM FOREST are close to agreeing a new deal for promotion-winning boss Steve Cooper.

The 42-year-old has completely transformed the club’s fortunes since he took over in September.

Nottingham Forest are set to offer Steve Cooper a bumper new contract after guiding the club to the Premier League

Cooper led Forest from the bottom of the Championship to the Premier League in just eight months.

His reward for ending the club’s 23-year top-flight exile will be a bumper new deal and a healthy transfer budget this summer.

Cooper has more than a year left on his current deal.

But grateful owner Evangelos Marinakis is in talks with his manager in Athens over a new, improved three-year-deal.
