Nottingham Forest Star Hits Back at Amazon Prime Over Nationality Mix-Up

NECO WILLIAMS Corrects Amazon Prime's Error

Nottingham Forest defender, Neco Williams, has taken a swipe at Amazon Prime after they mistakenly labeled him as "English" during Forest's recent match against Newcastle.

Prime's Gaffe

During the match, Williams, who is Welsh, came on as a substitute for Gonzalo Montiel. However, Amazon Prime's broadcast showed an English flag next to Williams' name, prompting the player to address the error on social media.

Williams Sets the Record Straight

Williams posted on X: "Merry Christmas. Three points. Chris Wood (heart eye emoji). Prime Video Sport, I am Welsh (Welsh flag and upside down face emoji)." The 22-year-old defender has earned 36 senior international caps for Wales and was part of the squad that qualified for the World Cup in Qatar last year.

Upcoming Matches for Wales

Williams is expected to feature in Wales' upcoming match against Finland in the home semi-final on March 21 in Cardiff. If Wales win, they will face either Poland or Estonia for a spot in the 2024 Euro Championship in Germany.

Forest's Current Standing

Nottingham Forest, currently managed by Nuno Espirito Santo, is positioned 16th in the Premier League table, just two points above the relegation zone. Santo took over from Steve Cooper last week and has won one game and lost one so far.
