Ole Gunnar Solskjaer going ‘all in’ at Spurs as under-fire boss admits he has had no assurances over his Man Utd job

UNDER-FIRE boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to go ‘all in’ at Tottenham to spark a Manchester United fightback.

The chips are down for the Norwegian, with his job hanging by a thread following last week’s abject 5-0 home loss to Liverpool.

Solskjaer admits he cannot expect assurances from the board — but defiantly vowed not to quit.

He said: “I’m going to go all in now for a result on Saturday. That’s the only thing we can do.

“We need a reaction and a result. I never give up.”

United have taken just a single point from their last four league games.

And Solskjaer revealed he has spoken to the board since the thumping by their Merseyside rivals — but it is not for him to ask for backing over his job.

He said: “I’ve had communication with the board and I don’t expect them to give me assurances.

“When you have a performance and a spell like we’ve had, that’s not what I call about and say.

“We’re in a poor run of form. My job is to put things right and that’s what I’m trying to do.

“I’m not here to ask for assurances.”

Solskjaer, 48, admitted he has received words of encouragement from former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who was at the training ground this week.

He added: “We had a commercial day, we spoke for a brief moment because he was in there with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Now Solskjaer is ready to fight back after that ‘dark day’ against their arch-rivals, starting with the trip to Spurs.

He said: “I’m responsible and it’s my job to put things right.

“We need a reaction, we can’t have a performance like this again.”

Solskjaer insists he will not let the club’s recent poor form affect him.

He added: “I’ve always made sure I fight back.

“I’m not going to let a period like this define me.”
