Pedro offered Chelsea exit by Roma as they eye cut-price transfer for out-of-favour Spaniard

ROMA have contacted Chelsea about a cut-price transfer for Spanish winger Pedro, it has been claimed.

The former Barcelona man will be a free-agent in June but the Italians have reportedly swooped to land him on the cheap now.

Roma have made contact with Chelsea about signing Pedro

The 32-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and he has struggled for form and game time under new boss Frank Lampard.

Pedro has only managed five Premier League appearances so far this campaign and has failed to register a goal or an assist in that time.

The winger has been at Stamford Bridge since his 25million move in the summer of 2015 and is generally well liked by the fans.

But given Roma’s current injury crisis, they have moved to land the out of favour man, according to Football Italia.

The Italians have mainly focused on youth during this window and reportedly feel Pedro would bring some much needed experience.

Chelsea may be open to letting the attacking winger go but Frank Lampard’s main focus is on bringing another striker in.

Lampard has made it clear to the Blues board that he needs them to sign a forward this week to help him stay clear of Manchester United, Tottenham and Wolves in the battle for Champions League qualification.

AC Milan’s Krzystof Piatek has now emerged as a target if the Italian giants are willing to accept a loan deal until the end of the season.

Edinson Cavani is only a long shot with Atletico Madrid in pole position to sign the Uruguayan from PSG.

Lampard has been stressing to technical director Petr Cech and director Marina Granovskaia how vital it is they add to Chelsea’s striking options before the transfer window closes on Friday.
