GERMAN clubs are putting the Premier League to shame – by donating £18million to cash-strapped teams.

Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Leipzig and Leverkusen have all banked millions this season by appearing in the Champions League.

German clubs have donated £18million to cash-strapped teams.

Today, they have now decided to help out some of the struggling sides in the top two divisions by using some of that money generated.

The PFA reportedly want urgent talks with the Premier League and Football League with stars expecting to be asked to defer wages.

Some top-flight clubs have been in talks with the PFA over whether it would be acceptable to delay a portion of wages until the crisis ends.

This would improve the cash flow of some teams with all players set to get their money but the Prem sides are unlikely to help any teams in the EFL who face massive problems due to the impact of the coronavirus.

It is a different story in Germany, with Jadon Sancho’s Dortmund, Robert Lewandowski’s Bayern and the two other Bundesliga big-hitters have wanted to help out by offering a total of 20m Euros.

The money will be distributed by the DFL which runs the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 and clubs will have to ask for the cash.

Bayern and Dortmund stars, along with most other Bundesliga sides, have all taken 20 per cut during the crisis to help out behind-the-scenes workers.
