MANCHESTER CITY will kick off their defence of the Premier League title with a trip to Burnley – who are managed by club legend Vincent Kompany.
The defending champions have been handed a tricky trip to Turf Moor to play last season’s Championship winners in their season opener on Friday, August 11.

City icon Kompany won’t be in the mood for giving his old side an easy three points as his Clarets will hope to get their survival bid up and running with an upset win.
Last season’s runners-up Arsenal will kick off their title bid with a trip to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest in the early kick-off on Saturday.
Brighton and Everton will also be in action, welcoming Luton Town and Fulham to the Amex Stadium and Goodison Park respectively.
Newly-promoted Sheffield United, meanwhile, will face managerless Crystal Palace at Bramall Lane.
High-flying Newcastle will round off the Saturday fixtures with a tasty clash agaisnt Unai Emery‘s Aston Villa.
Ange Postecoglou and Mauricio Pochettino will kick off their stints at Tottenham and Chelsea with tricky matches on the Sunday.
Spurs will travel across London to take on Brentford, who they failed to beat last season.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge in the late kick-off.
Pochettino will hope to guide the Blues to their first home win over the Reds in their last FIVE meetings at the Bridge.
Manchester United fans will have to wait until the following Monday to see Erik ten Hag‘s troops take on Wolves.
The first derby of the season takes place on September 26, with bitter rivals Arsenal and Tottenham renewing their historic rivalry at the Emirates.
The reverse fixture will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 27.
The first Merseyside derby of the season takes place on October 21, with Liverpool hosting Everton at Anfield.
Sean Dyche‘s troops will return the favour at Goodison on March 16 in a 3pm kick-off.
Manchester United and Manchester City will do battle on October 28, with the reverse match being held at the Etihad on March 3.
Arsenal’s home clash with West Ham and Aston Villa’s trip to Manchester United are the pick of the Boxing Day fixtures.
