Premier League fixtures winners and losers revealed as Tottenham fans fume at rivals Arsenal’s ‘joke’ draw

TOTTENHAM fans have been left fuming at Arsenal’s “joke” fixtures draw.

That’s as the Premier League’s winners and losers were revealed during today’s announcement for the new season.

Spurs fans are among those not pleased with the Premier League fixture announcement

Rivals like Arsenal are celebrating a hat-trick of home draws

Top flight teams discovered their fate for the upcoming campaign this morning, with some tasty clashes set for the opening day.

The Premier League will be more competitive than ever following the rise of clubs like Newcastle and Brighton.

And sides such as Chelsea and Spurs will be looking to make amends for dismal performances last term.

But some clubs have come out on top in terms of the new season’s three biggest games.

Everyone sees the first day, last day and Boxing Day as the holy trinity of campaign-defining matches.

Incredibly, there are no less than six teams who will play all three fixtures at home.

Arsenal, Brentford, Brighton, Burnley, Chelsea and Sheffield United will all be backed by raucous crowds on each key day.

Meanwhile, there are a further six sides who are away for each clash.

Aston Villa, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, West Ham and Wolves will all be feeling hard done by.

And as for the league’s remaining eight sides, they face a mixture of home and away games.

Spurs fans have been left particularly angry by their three away games, especially after seeing rivals Arsenal and Chelsea land all three at home.

One said: “Arsenal home to Everton on the final day, like isn’t this every season.

They are at home first game. North London derby home first. Every Champions League game they are at home after those.

“Home on Boxing Day and home last game. Mind-boggling how you’re meant to believe this is all random.”

Another declared: “How can you be away first game Boxing Day and last game? Arsenal and Chelsea home for all three. Joke!”

A Fulham fan was not happy with Chelsea’s draw, saying: “Obviously teams get twinned with fixtures, and Fulham & Chelsea are kept on the flip of each other’s home/away fixtures.

“But for Chelsea to have had 75 per cent of Boxing Day fixtures at home over the last two decades while Fulham have just 25 per cent feels like it hasn’t come from the random generator.”

Another said: “We’ve got all three key fixtures away again. That should rarely happen, more than 20 per cent of the time. We’ve never had the reverse.”

A Nottingham Forest fan moaned: “That’s the sixth consecutive time we’ve started the season with an away match when we’ve been in the Premier League.

“Only four of 18 home matches from the first game, last game and boxing day fixtures.”

Another said: “Away fixtures first, last and Boxing Day is bloody minging to be honest.”

One added: “Two years running, three big days away, how can that be right?”
