Premier League managers forced to run for cover as Washington storm sees TREES uprooted at garden party

THREE Premier League managers were forced to run for cover after a storm uprooted a tree at a garden party.

Unai Emery, Marco Silva and Thomas Frank were all safe and avoided getting hurt as the tropical storm wrecked chaos in Washington.

The three managers are currently in Washington as part of their club’s pre-season tours.

They were attending a garden party at the British Embassy when the storm hit.

The coaches along with party guests had to run for cover due to the extreme nature of the storm.

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie reported that the winds caused by the storm reached 80mph and that the rain was “biblical”.

Downie also claimed that due to the storm Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino “ad to re-route to team hotel for safety”.

As a result of the storm, he has also said that Pochettino has cancelled his press conference today.

Fortunately, he confirmed that “nobody was hurt”, although he did say that the garden party was a “wash out”.

Downie uploaded a video of some of the damage caused by the storm onto Twitter.

The clip shows a massive tree that has been completely uprooted and fallen down across a road.
