Premier League stadium undergoes incredible transformation to host monster trucks and baseball

The London Stadium, home to West Ham United, has undergone a stunning transformation during the summer break, accommodating a range of exciting events including monster truck shows and baseball games.

Time-lapse video captures the amazing changes

A newly released time-lapse video showcases the remarkable transformation of the stadium between May 21 and August 14, revealing the extensive adjustments made to the venue. The video begins with the conclusion of West Ham's final home match of the last season against Leeds.

From pitch to stage: Hosting a concert

Immediately after the match, workers swiftly removed the football pitch to make way for a stage, as Nigerian singer Burna Boy took center stage with a sensational concert on June 3.

From football to baseball: The MLB London Series

Following the concert, the stadium was converted into a baseball pitch in preparation for the MLB London Series at the end of June. This caused quite a stir among fans, as it meant West Ham was unable to screen the Europa Conference League final.

Concerts and monster trucks

Two more concerts were held in July, with The Weeknd taking to the stage twice after the baseball pitch had been removed. Additionally, dirt and ramps were installed to create a thrilling setting for the Monster Jam monster truck event.

Return of the green: Athletics meet and restoration

By the end of July, the grass had returned to the London Stadium, coinciding with a London Athletics meet. The event showcased the stadium's athletic track, which surrounds the football pitch. Finally, the pitch was fully restored for the start of the new season, with the time-lapse video ending on August 14.

Upcoming Premier League action

West Ham United fans can now look forward to the first Premier League home game of the season against Chelsea, which will take place on Sunday.
