FORMER RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick remains ‘interested’ in the Manchester United job, according to reports.
The 63-year-old, who is currently working as the head of sports development at Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow, was an option for the Red Devils when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came under severe pressure in 2019.
And Bild journalist Christian Falk has confirmed Rangnick is still up for the challenge as criticism of Solskjaer continues to grow.
The Norwegian’s credentials have been scrutinised after yet another Premier League defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday, going down 2-0 against rivals Manchester City.
Murmurs around Solskjaer’s possible sacking began to grow following the 5-0 loss to Liverpool two weeks ago.
But they were quashed after United beat Tottenham 3-0 to end a run of four Prem games without a win.
The club’s faith in Solskjaer has led to them missing out on former Juventus and Chelsea coach Antonio Conte as he decided to join Spurs.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers have been muted as potential replacements for Solskjaer.

But Rangnick, who ended his second spell with Leipzig in 2019, feels he knows how to turn things around at the club.
When asked back in 2019 where Man Utd were going wrong, Rangnick told The Times: “Since Sir Alex [Ferguson] left they were underperforming.
“They haven’t won the title since he left. At any club, if you cannot get the right players, then you should at least not sign the wrong ones.
“You are in trouble if you do that in one or two or three consecutive transfer windows.
“Club building is about building the right squad by transferring the right players away and having more than 50 per cent success rate of bringing in the right players.
“Then you must have the best possible coaches to develop these players.”
Man Utd sit fifth in the Prem table having won just five of their 11 games so far this season.
Solskjaer’s squad now head off on international duty before a crucial seven days when domestic football returns.
The Red Devils travel to Watford, then face Villarreal in the Champions League, before going to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.
