Raul Jimenez flirts with Man Utd and Liverpool transfer as Wolves goal machine eyes move to ‘historic’ club

RAUL JIMENEZ has teased a future move to Manchester United or Liverpool as he eyes a transfer to a “historic club”.

The Mexico international has shone since his record £30million move from Benfica two years ago.

Raul Jimenez has admitted that being linked to a number of giant clubs is “very cool”

Several clubs have been linked with the Wolves hotshot, 29, as he nears the end of his second year leading the line at Molineux.

At the suspension of football due to the coronavirus crisis, Wolves sat sixth in the Premier League and were pushing towards the latter stages in Europe with Jimenez a key cog in the West Midlands side’s scintillating form.

Nuno Espirito Santo will face a fight to keep the marksman in his clutches in the upcoming window and Jimenez himself has admitted he is flatted by the widespread interest.

He told actress Jessica Coch on Youtube: “It is something very cool, I do not know if they will be true, they are rumours,

“Since they are talking about me, different teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool – they are teams that are important in football history.

“It is an incredible thing to be on the radar and on the lips of those teams. It is something good for me to continue growing, making an effort and taking it as an incentive so that, if possible, I can achieve it.”

The Mexico marskman was pressed to choose his dream club to sign for if he was given the chance.

But he didn’t give much away incase it came back to bite him in the future.

He added: “My dream team? Whatever one that signs me would be incredible,

“Imagine that right now I tell you one and in the end I go to the rival, they will reproach me all the time, I will get into trouble!”

The ace’s current deal ends in 2023 and he is currently happy in the West Midlands but remains open to a future switch.

United are understood to be one of those sides hoping to land Jimenez – but they face competition from the likes of Juve and possibly Los Blancos.

According to TuttoJuve, Wolves could allegedly ask for as little as £18m for the striker – who has found the net 39 times for the Molineux side in 88 appearances, with 22 coming this term.

Manchester United bosses see Jimenez as an ideal man to come in and fill the void left by the departure of Romelu Lukaku last summer.

Wolves return to top-flight action on Saturday afternoon with a clash against West Ham.
