Real Madrid ‘eye £71million N’Golo Kante’ as Chelsea look to raise funds after Timo Werner transfer

REAL MADRID have set their sights on a £71million swoop for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.

Blues boss Frank Lampard does not see the Frenchman as part of his Stamford Bridge revolution.

Real Madrid want Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante in a £71million raid on Stamford Bridge

So Zinedine Zidane can steal in and grab his countryman as he looks to shore up his midfield at the Bernabeu.

There has been speculation that Kante could leave the Blues for some time now  and this would give Lamps the cash to complete his other business.

Lampard has plenty of options in midfield with Jorginho, the impressive Mateo Kovacic, new hope Billy Gilmour, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

There is also talk Lamps could re-sign West Ham’s Declan Rice in a big summer raid.

Los Blancos are not expected to do too much shopping this summer as the coronavirus has hit LaLiga harder than most leagues.

But they could do business for the 2016 Leicester Premier League winner, report Madrid sports newspaper AS.

Kante, a France World Cup winner in 2018, joined the Blues for £29m.

But his mouthwatering £290,000-a-week wages could be one stumbling block as the likes of Sergio Ramos and Co hit out before when the club wanted to sign Paul Pogba on big money.

They took a pay cut in April to help the club due to Covid-19.

It looks like a busy summer at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea have wrapped up the £54m signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner and are now focused on another attacker in Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz for £75m, say sources.
