Real Madrid transfer target Sadio Mane wants to stay at Liverpool forever

SADIO MANE hopes to stay at Liverpool “forever” having found his best form at Anfield.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with the winger in the past, Zinedine Zidane reportedly earmarking him as his top target before he resigned in the summer of 2018.

Ballon d’Or nominee Mane has nine goals this season

But Mane’s success on Merseyside means he will always be happy to stay at the club.

He told TV2: “I am very happy to be a part of this great club and I enjoy it.

“Hopefully I’ll stay here forever.”

Mane, 27, signed from Southampton in 2016 and hit the ground running with the fans’ and players’ Player of the Season award in his first season.

Now in his fourth year with Liverpool, he feels fully part of the Anfield “family”.

The Senegal star continued: “I’ve been to a few clubs around the world, but Liverpool is unique.

“It’s like a family. The mood is always incredible.

“But that’s normal, we’ve been together for four years and know each other. We are also together off the pitch and that is important for morale.”

The Reds’ strike trio of Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah spearheaded their Champions League win in May.

Bombastic characters on the pitch, the forward revealed his colleagues are calm figures away from the stadium.

Mane added: “Working with them is easy. Personally, I feel lucky to get to play with them. They are really good players and make everything easier.

“Mo is fun sometimes. He is a cool and nice guy.

“Bobby is very shy. He is the most shy football player I have ever met, but very nice.”
