Robbie Savage’s 18-year-old son Charlie tipped for Wales call-up ahead of World Cup after impressing at Man Utd

CHARLIE SAVAGE has been tipped for a Wales call-up next summer.

The Manchester United teen star made his club debut in their Champions League draw with Young Boys at Old Trafford earlier this month.

The 18-year-old midfielder has already played for Wales up to Under-19 level.

Now Dragons caretaker boss Rob Page says he will get a chance to showcase his talents in a training camp before the Nations League kicks off in June.

Retired defender Page, who played alongside Charlie’s dad and TV pundit Robbie Savage for Wales, says he has been monitoring the starlet closely.

He said: “Robbie must have been really proud because he’s already been on the phone!

“We go back a long way and have a friendship as well as an interest in how Charlie is getting on.

“It’s a great achievement for young Charlie but I know Robbie will keep his feet firmly on the ground.”

Wales will host Austria in a 2022 World Cup qualifier play-off semi-final in March before turning their attention to Nations League fixtures against Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands in June.

Page added: “We have already organised a meet up camp prior to the June games.

“It will be a younger camp because at the end of the season the problem we have is League Two will finish sooner than the Premier League and the Championship, and I think League One is even earlier.

“So there is a big gap from the time when the lads finish playing domestic football to when we meet up for the international camp.”
