Romelu Lukaku praises Martial, Rashford and Greenwood and tips old club Man Utd to be ‘really good next season’

ROMELU LUKAKU has tipped old side Manchester United to be “really good” next season after firing Inter Milan to the Europa League final.

Antonio Conte’s Serie A runners-up will face Sevilla on Friday after beating Shakhtar Donetsk 5-0.

Romelu Lukaku has hailed old side Man Utd and their new front three

Lukaku scored two goals in the demolition and was surely hoping to face United before their 2-1 defeat to Sevilla on Sunday.

The Belgian has now bagged 33 goals for Inter since joining from Old Trafford last summer.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could have used Lukaku’s clinical finishing as United squandered chance after chance in their semi-final loss.

However, Belgium star Lukaku believes the Red Devils are on the road to becoming a real force thanks to their front three of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.

He said: “I think United tried their hardest [in the semi-final]. I think they had a really good season and Ole did a good job.

“The players they did really well, Greenwood’s coming through, and Martial and Rashford. I expected all of that.

“I’m really happy for them, they look really good next season, I have no doubt”.

Lukaku reckons Anthony Martial and Co will fire Man Utd to glory next term

Meanwhile, BT Sport pundits Owen Hargreaves and Paul Ince hailed Lukaku’s explosive performance against Shakhtar, with strike partner Lautaro Martinez also scoring twice.

Hargreaves beamed: “Credit Lukaku actually when he speaks about Rashford, Martial and Greenwood, and saying they have a bright future.

“A lot of other players would be bitter, but that was classy.

“Lukaku was fabulous, he played like a real centre-forward. He looked sharp. His finishing was something we never questioned.

“It just shows you need to find the right fit for you and for whatever reason it wasn’t there [at United].

“I think he got a raw deal at Manchester United. He felt like he had a point to prove all the time and almost played like he was carrying that burden.”

Ince added: “He looks fit, he looks lean. You wouldn’t have seen this at United, he looks like a different animal.”
