SCOTT PARKER has finally left Fulham by mutual consent – and is now set to take over at Bournemouth.

The 40-year-old has been negotiating his exit from Craven Cottage for weeks now after his relationship with the ownership broke down.

Scott Parker has quit Fulham after their relegation from the Premier League

SunSport understands he will not be paid any severance money – but his long-awaited exit means he is clear to take over at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth will land a man they wanted to hire last summer, but were foiled by Fulham winning promotion via the play-offs.

Parker won praise for making his side harder to beat in the middle of last season, but could not prevent relegation back to the Championship.

Tensions rose with the ownership and he made it clear he wanted to leave, despite still having two years to run on his £1million-a-year contract.

Fulham will now look to hire a replacement, with Swansea chief Steve Cooper the frontrunner.

Owner Shahid Khan said: “Through promotion and relegation alike, Scott has always enjoyed my support as our Head Coach.

“Scott’s departure does nothing to shake my confidence, however.

“We will hire a new Head Coach who is capable of achieving our goal of promotion and will be committed to Fulham and its supporters.

“And we will field a squad that will respond, compete and win. Onward.”

First-team coach Matt Wells, goalkeeping coach Rob Burch have followed Parker out the exit door at Fulham.

Head of sports science Alastair Harris first-team match analyst Jonathan Hill and lead physical performance coach Charlie Moore were also among the departures.
