Sir Jim Ratcliffe Makes First Visit to Old Trafford Since £1.03 Billion Investment

Introduction

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the billionaire investor, was spotted at Old Trafford for the first time since his £1.03 billion investment in Manchester United. The 71-year-old arrived at the Theatre of Dreams after flying into Manchester via a private jet.

A Warm Welcome

Protected from the Manchester rain by a security guard wielding an umbrella, Sir Jim Ratcliffe walked into the main entrance of Old Trafford with a smile on his face.

Meeting with Key Staff

During his visit, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who agreed to a 25% takeover of Manchester United on Christmas Eve, met with key staff members, including interim CEO Patrick Stewart and Chief Operating Officer Collette Roche. The group had a working lunch and discussed initial ideas to improve the club's performance on the pitch.

Next Steps

Although Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos team cannot actively participate in running the club until the deal is ratified next month, they will continue to hold meetings at United's Carrington training base. There, they may meet with under-fire manager Erik ten Hag, who is rumored to be replaced by ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

Ten Hag's Future

The future of Erik ten Hag remains uncertain, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly considering a managerial change. However, Ten Hag recently expressed his willingness to work with the new ownership and is expected to have discussions with his new boss.

Manchester United currently sits seventh in the league with only one win in their last five matches.
