MOUSSA SISSOKO accidentally smashed the ball into Nuno Espirito Santo during Tottenham’s game against Watford on Sunday.

Spurs boss Nuno recently allowed the France international, 32, to leave his team and join the Premier League newcomers.

The Watford star was forced off the pitch by Dele just before the incident

The incident happened during the first half of the Prem fixture against Tottenham and Watford in North London.

Battling against Dele Alli in the middle of the park, Sissoko tried to stop the ball going out for a throw-in after it deflected off his shin.

The Frenchman kicked the ball upfield – after it had gone out of play – seemingly out of frustration rather than anything else.

But it flew straight into his ex-boss Nuno, who let Sissoko leave Tottenham on Friday following five years of service.

The player was immediately apologetic to the coach as both parties quickly forgot about the incident and play resumed in North London.

Tottenham went on to win the game 1-0 thanks to a first-half strike from Son Heung-Min, with the goal coming moments after Nuno was hit.

Sissoko got the chance to say goodbye to the Spurs fans after the game

Watford reportedly paid just £5million for the experienced midfielder, who’s made more than 250 appearances in the Premier League.

Hornets manager Xisco is delighted Sissoko has signed a two-year deal at Vicarage Road and is hoping he can inspire them to Prem safety.

And the ex-Toulouse ace knows what it’s like to be involved in a relegation battle, suffering the drop with Newcastle in 2015-16.

Xisco said: “He is a very good player, everyone knows he is an experienced player.

“He is a top player and I think he would be very good for us.

“Always I say the same thing – we will have one option more in our squad to try to give all the best for our team.”
