Southampton line up THIRD transfer from Man City this summer with loan swoop for defender Issa Kabore

SOUTHAMPTON are in talks to make Issa Kabore their third signing from Manchester City this summer.

The Burkina Faso defender, 21, played for City Football Group side Troyes on loan last season.

Issa Kabore is set for a Prem move as Southampton look for a loan deal after Forest failed with a big-money bid

Nottingham Forest have already seen a £17million bid for the right-back rejected.

Saints have now opened talks to take Kabore on a season-long loan.

It comes as Southampton also announced the appointment of Joe Shields as the club’s new head of senior recruitment.

Shields, 35, spent the past nine years at Man City, where he was most recently head of academy recruitment and talent management.

Earlier this week, Southampton completed the signing of 18-year-old Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia from Manchester City, after also swooping for Gavin Bazanu.

Lavia became the club’s fourth signing of the summer.

He joins goalkeepers Bazunu and Mateusz Lis, as well as defender Armel Bella-Kotchap.

Saints are also closing on signing Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo in a £10m deal.
