Both of those players established themselves as star players in the top-flight in their teenage years, with Rooney shining at Everton before making the move to Old Trafford in 2004.

And he formed a deadly partnership with Ronaldo up top, with the Portuguese maestro linking up with the Red Devils from Sporting Lisbon a year earlier.

But it is Greenwood that boasts the better stats if you compare the trio in the Premier League before they turned 19.

Ronaldo scored just once and provided two assists in 17 games as an 18-year-old.

In that period he played a total of 907 minutes, with his goal contribution coming in at one every 302 minutes.

EVER-GREEN

Rooney meanwhile featured in a staggering 69 games before the age of 19 after he burst on the scene as a 16-year-old.

He managed to bang in a total of 15 goals as well as chipping in with eight assists – being involved in a goal every 180 minutes.

But Greenwood blows those stats out the water as he has been involved in a goal every 115 minutes.

As well as the England youth international’s eight goals, he has registered one assist.

He has played a total of 1035 minutes spread across 29 games, with the majority of his outings coming off the bench.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already likened Greenwood’s deadly finishing inside the box to Rooney.

And the Norwegian gaffer has also stated that the starlet is ready to prove his talent on the international stage for the Three Lions.

Former United marksman Dimitar Berbatov has waxed lyrical over the youngster, as he revealed he reminds him of former team-mate Ronaldo.
