Tammy Abraham demands new £180k-a-week deal to stay at Chelsea as he seeks similar contract to Callum Hudson-Odoi

TAMMY ABRAHAM is reportedly demanding £180,000-a-week to sign a new contract at Chelsea.

The Athletic claims Abraham is open to extending his Stamford Bridge stay after bursting into Frank Lampard’s starting XI this season.

Tammy Abraham wants £180k-a-week to sign a new deal at Chelsea

The England international, 22, has scored 13 goals in 25 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

And Abraham, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury since the start of February, wants to be on equal terms with fellow Blues youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The winger, 18, signed a five-year deal earlier this season putting him on £120k-a-week, with performance-related bonuses potentially bringing it to £180k.

But Hudson-Odoi has made just 17 league appearances this season.

And Abraham believes he deserves to bank the same figures as his teammate.

It’s believed talks are yet to resume after initial negotiations earlier in the campaign.

But another factor in Abraham’s decision to pen a new deal is Chelsea’s pursuit of a new striker.

Olivier Giroud, 33, looks set to leave on a free transfer this summer, while 26-year-old Michy Batshuayi is expected to be sold.

Abraham wants to ensure he remains Lampard’s main forward next season.

But that could be hard to guarantee with Chelsea eyeing RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, 24, and Lyon’s 23-year-old hitman Moussa Dembele.

Meanwhile, the same report adds that Willian is likely to leave after demanding a three-year contract from the Blues.

The veteran winger, 31, has already been offered fresh terms on a two-year deal.

Willian looks increasingly likely to leave on a free transfer this summer, with Spurs and Arsenal keen

And Chelsea now risk losing him to either Spurs or Arsenal, with Willian eager to stay in London for the foreseeable future.

Also heading out of the door at the end of the season are flop midfielders Tiemoue Bakayoko, 25, and Danny Drinkwater, 30.

The pair, on loan at Monaco and Aston Villa respectively, were signed for a combined £75million in the wake of Antonio Conte’s 2017 title win.

But Lampard has no use for them and is likely to take a huge financial hit to clear them off Chelsea’s books.

That means there could be room next term for starlets Ethan Ampadu, 19, and Conor Gallagher, 20.

They have both impressed in respective loans at RB Leipzig and Swansea.

But should the pair be loaned out instead, Lampard will look to send them to Premier League clubs to gain top-flight experience.
