, Thomas Tuchel will be SACKED if Bayern Munich don’t win Bundesliga title, says Premier League legend

FORMER Premier League star Dietmar Hamann believes Thomas Tuchel could be sacked if Bayern Munich fail to win the Bundesliga this season.

Tuchel, 49, was appointed Bayern manager last month following the departure of Julian Nagelsmann.

Hamann believes Tuchel could be sacked if he doesn’t win the Bundesliga

He won his first game in charge – against his former club Borussia Dortmund – but the Reds have since dropped down to second in the Bundesliga table AND crashed out of the Champions League as well as the DFB-Pokal.

And now he is at risk of losing his job just weeks after joining the club, according to Hamann.

The former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder told German outlet Ruhr Nachrichten: “The leadership may be confused, but the coach also makes a very confused impression in his four weeks so far.

“If he also gambles away the championship, it’s clear that his position would already be weakened.”

Hamann also claimed that the Bundesliga title is Borussia Dortmund’s to lose.

He added: “Now they have it in their own hands and should not give up the lead in the standings.

“I can well imagine them winning the last five games.”

Dortmund currently sit at the top of the Bundesliga table, one point above Bayern Munich, following Saturday’s 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Bayern suffered a 3-1 defeat to Mainz at the weekend, putting the club’s title charge in doubt.

And Tuchel lashed out at his side in frustration just minutes after the final whistle.

He said: “We seem exhausted. We look like a team that has already played 80 games this season.

“We are not able to play football without making mistakes. The games and the points go away and run through our hands like sand.”

According to reports in Germany, the Bayern Munich board is set to meet next month to discuss the futures of Tuchel, CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic amid the club’s recent troubles.
