Tim Sherwood left embarrassed live on TV by saying ‘I’m not worried about this corner’ before Roberto Firmino’s winner

TIM SHERWOOD put the mockers on Spurs by brazenly saying ‘I’m not worried about this corner’ before Roberto Firmino’s bullet header sealed the win for Liverpool.

The former Tottenham boss was working as a pundit on Amazon’s Goals show when he gave Jose Mourinho‘s team the ultimate kiss of death.

As Andy Robertson prepared to whip in a corner in the 90th minute with the top of the table clash poised at 1-1, Sherwood issued his commentator’s curse.

On Amazon Prime Video, Sherwood said: “Another corner. I’m not too worried about this corner.

“I mean, it might come back to bite me here but I think Tottenham have got the dominancy in the air there.

“I’m not sure anyone can get their head on the first ball for Liverpool…(Firmino scores) apart from that one.”

The panel immediately groaned and let out an ‘Oh Tim!’ after the Brazilian forward beat all the Spurs defenders in the air to seal the three points at Anfield.

Firmino’s flying header broke Spurs hearts and sent Jurgen Klopp’s men to the top of the pile with the two managers having stern words after the full-time whistle.

Mo Salah’s deflected effort off Eric Dier had given Liverpool an early lead.

Before a customary Son Heung-Min breakaway goal equalised for Mourinho’s travelling men.

Sherwood coached Tottenham for six months from December 2013 to May 2014 and fans couldn’t hide their delight at his slip up.

One said: “He really ate his words there.”

Another added: “I wonder why Tim Sherwood isn’t managing any more… *watches clip* *remembers why* Ah yes. The tactical nous of a wet sponge.”

A third semi-sympathised and said: “Oh poor Tim.”
