ASTON VILLA star Trezeguet has joined Istanbul Basaksehir on loan for the rest of the season.
The winger, 27, joined the Premier League club from Kasimpasa in 2019 and has appeared 64 times for the club.
He made an instant impact as he helped them to secure their top-flight status as well as reaching the Carabao Cup Final.
However, he was ruled out of action for seven months after suffering a serious knee injury against Liverpool last season.
He made his comeback off the bench for Villa on January 2 in the defeat at Brentford and then headed off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt.
He appeared seven times at the tournament and scored the goal that sent them into the semi-finals against Morocco.
But he and Egypt suffered heartbreak in the final as they were defeated by Senegal on penalties.
Villa boss Steven Gerrard now has Philippe Coutinho, Emi Buendia, Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore all battling for a starting role.

And with Trezeguet’s chances limited, he is now heading back to Turkey for the rest of the campaign with Istanbul Basaksehir.
Gerrard was asked about the star’s future earlier before the transfer announcement, and he said: “I think there will be an announcement in the coming hours on what’s next for Trezeguet.
“He’ll go out on loan and play, I think that’s the right thing for him.
“He’s been out for seven months with a career-threatening injury, he’s back in a good place so he needs to go and play and then we’ll discuss his situation in the summer.”
