Troy Deeney picks out Bukayo Saka as Arsenal’s standout player as he opens up on relationship with AFTV

WATFORD skipper Troy Deeney has opened up on his relationship with Arsenal fans as he lauded Gunners starlet Bukayo Saka.

The 31-year-old has become somewhat of a pantomime villain for Arsenal supporters ever since claiming the club lack “cojones” following a victory against the North Londoners in 2017.

Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka has been singled out for praise by Watford’s Troy Deeney

Since then, Deeney has been subject to boos and jeers whenever he’s come up against Mikel Arteta’s side, and the player has admitted he will never see eye-to-eye with most of the club’s fanbase.

But the Hornets forward has stated he gets on well with  AFTV regulars DT, Robbie and Troopz.

And in an interview with Manchester United fan channel The United Stand, Deeney also heaped praise on teenager Saka.

The 18-year-old has impressed for Arsenal this season, with the versatile youngster chipping in with three goals and nine assists in 29 games in all competitions.

Deeney said: “Arsenal people hate me but it is what it is.

“The reason me and someone like DT get on, or me and Robbie or me and Troopz, is because I’m not saying Arsenal are crap, or these players are not good enough.

“I’m literally going, ‘my opinion on it is this, this and this’ and they would go, ‘yeah, I can see that’.

“Even when Arsenal are good I’ll be like, ‘my man was sick, you know’.

“Saka at left-back, he’s a proper player.

“I’m not just going, ‘oh, you lost, haha’. Bro, Watford lose more than most.”
