Watch Arsenal wonderkid Marcelo Flores score screamer against Chelsea as England fight for 17-year-old youth ace

ARSENAL starlet Marcelo Flores fired in a screamer during the club’s 2-1 victory against Chelsea’s Under-18s on Tuesday.

The Gunners came back from behind against the Blues following Jude Soonsup-Bell’s opener, before Flores and Mazeed Ogungbo completed the turn around.

Flores got the Gunners back on level terms against the Blues’ U18 side

The victory lifted Ken Gillard’s side up to seventh in the U18 Premier League table with Arsenal getting back to winning ways after losing to Fulham.

And it was Flores’ strike from distance that left fans talking after the attacking midfielder’s left-footed effort from outside the box nestled into the top corner.

His father Ruben posted the goal on social media, where he said: “Great win vs Chelsea and even better the top bins.”

Supporters were quick to comment on the 17-year-old’s fourth goal of the season – his first since his double against Crystal Palace in September.

One fan messaged: “Fantastic work and what a finish.”

Another remarked: “Good talent. Would be interested to see him go on loan within the next couple years.”

A third added: “Hope he stays fit and injury free.”

Meanwhile one simply stated: “Awesome goal.”

Mexico youth international Flores before a somersault flip after scoring for Arsenal

Big things are expected of Flores at the Emirates, with Arsenal handing the Mexico youth international a professional contract in October.

Arsenal saw off competition from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool to sign the teenager from Ipswich in 2019.

And the player is also at the centre of a tussle on the international stage, with Mexico one of three countries looking to tie him down.

Flores is able to play for Canada due to being born in the country, while he can also represent England through his mother.
