ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI had to shove young hero Alphonso Davies over to the celebrating Bayern Munich fans as they chanted his name following Tuesday night’s win over Chelsea.

The Canadian youngster, 19, was celebrating with his team-mates after the resounding 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge with a lap of the pitch.

But Bayern fans only cared about one man after the win as they chanted Davies’ name long after the final whistle had blown.

Davies, formerly of MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps, shyly hid in the ruck – but veteran pal Lewandowski was keen to ensure he soaked up the moment.

The Polish striker, 31, gave the left-back a hearty shove towards the fans to make sure he received the rapturous applause.

Humble Davies begrudgingly accepted and trotted over to the travelling support to thank them for their backing.

His starring role in West London capped what has been an amazing journey for the winger-turned-full-back.

Davies was born in a refugee camp in Ghana in 2000 after his parents fled Liberia during the Second Civil war.

The Bayern star spent the first five years of his life in the camp before the family passed an interview for a resettlement programme and settled in Edmonton, Canada.

Davies enrolled in the Free Footie programme an after-school initiative for inner-city kids who cannot afford registration fees or transportation to games.

At the age of just 15, Davies made his Whitecaps debut before attracted the attention of Bayern Munich in 2019 – who paid 17million to land their man.

And he’s gone on to be a key man ever since, having played 26 times in all competitions this season – and is still only a teenager.

His hot form has left Manchester United licking their wounds, after his three-week trial was cancelled in 2018.
